This item contains a folder and 2- to 7-page sheet music for parts: piano, 1st violin (conductor) with instrument cues and a sample page (four compositions), 2nd violin, viola, violoncello, bass, flute and piccolo with some other instrument cues; 1st clarinet in B flat and A with some other instrument cues, 1st cornet in B flat and A, trombone, drums; publisher number 6507-46. The selected English melodies are: Cherry ripe; On the Banks of Allan Water; The dashing white Seargeant; The Bay of Biscay; Sir Rogers de Coverly, Country Dance; Sally in our Alley; Come lasses and lads; The British Grenadiers; Rule Britannia; God save the King. The handwritten inscriptions "To Drink * B[flat]7 me only", "Here", "To John Peel" were added in pencil on piano part; "Out to drink to me only", "Drink to me only", "To John Peel", "Here" were added in pencil on 1st violin (conductor) part; "Cherry Ripe", "Drink to me only", "cut", "Bay of Bis", "John Peel", "Boys of old Brigade", "Red White & Blue", "Here", "Rule Brittania", "Finish" were added in pencil on 2nd violin part; "To Drink", "Anon Drunk", "To John Peel to Brigade to Red White [illegible letters and arrow]", "Here" were added in pencil on violoncello part; "Heart of Oak", "Cherry Ripe", "Allen Water", "Cut", "T. Bay of Biscay", "cut", "Bel Britannia" were added in pencil on bass part; "Drink", "#" were added in pencil on 1st clarinet in B flat and A part; "Drink", "(Biscay)", three "x", "IIV, A [flat]" were added in pencil on the 1st cornet in B flat and A part; four X's were added in pencil on the trombone part; "to Drink", "Bay of Biscay", "to John Reel", "FINISH" and other markings were added on the drums part. Stamps "James C. Metcalfe" in purple ink, "A.E. WITHAM VIOLIN TORONTO" in black ink and "A.E. WITHAM" in blue ink were added on sheets and on folder. C. Fischer's Edition, N. Y. Theatre Orch., 677.
