This series contains records created by Monique Frize, Claire Deschênes and Ruby Heap and which relate to the data gathered for each ICWES-I to ICWES-XII conference. A note left by the creators about its creation, content and use reads as follows:

For the chapters of the book "Women’s Contribution to Science and Technology Through ICWES Conferences (Springer, December 2003) covering ICWES I to ICWES XII, the scientific content has been examined in more depth, and treated separately for S&T and for gender. The classification into those two categories has been performed according to the contribution content, and not the background or discipline of the authors. Therefore, for example, a paper presenting an analysis to explain the low participation of women in STEM is to be found in the gender category, while a paper investigating the influence that new substances introduced into industry and agriculture have on women’s health will be in the S&T section.

To obtain quantitative information, Excel files were prepared for each ICWES-I to ICWES-XII conferences, listing information taken from the programs and proceedings (the number and titles of the papers, presentations, activities for each ICWES sessions, the number of sub-topics by session (if any), the number of women, men, and unknown sex of the speakers, the ICWES region of the speakers and the pages where abstracts or papers can be found in the proceedings). The ICWES regions refers to 11 current regions of the world defined after INWES was created. These regions are:

2. Latin America (incl. South and Central America, Caribbean, Mexico)
3. Western Europe (incl. Turkey)
4. Eastern Europe (incl. Russia)
5. French-speaking Africa
6. English-speaking Africa
7. Middle East and North Africa (incl. Israel)
8. Central Asia (incl. India, Pakistan, Nepal)
9. Southeast Asia
10. Far East Asia (includes Thailand)
11. United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand
H. Host country (replaces the region code when applicable)

Pour les chapitres du livre « Women's Contribution to Science and Technology Through ICWES Conferences » (Springer, décembre 2003) couvrant les conférences ICWES I à ICWES XII, le contenu scientifique a été examiné plus en profondeur et traité séparément pour la science et la technologie et pour le genre. La classification dans ces deux catégories a été effectuée en fonction du contenu de la contribution, et non de l'origine ou de la discipline des auteurs. Ainsi, par exemple, un article présentant une analyse visant à expliquer la faible participation des femmes dans les STIM se trouve dans la catégorie « genre », tandis qu'un article étudiant l'influence des nouvelles substances introduites dans l'industrie et l'agriculture sur la santé des femmes se trouve dans la section « science et technologie ».

Pour obtenir des informations quantitatives, des fichiers Excel ont été préparés pour chaque conférence ICWES-I à ICWES-XII, répertoriant des informations tirées des programmes et des actes (le nombre et les titres des articles, des présentations, des activités pour chaque session ICWES, le nombre de sous-thèmes par session (le cas échéant), le nombre de femmes, d'hommes et le sexe inconnu des orateurs, la région ICWES des orateurs et les pages où les résumés ou les articles peuvent être trouvés dans les actes). Les régions ICWES se réfèrent à 11 régions actuelles du monde définies après la création d'INWES. Ces régions sont les suivantes:
