Lee Lakeman speaking at Canadian Association of Sexual Assault Centres (CASAC) convention day of dialogue gathering representatives of sexual assault centers across Canada and outlines findings in the CASAC inquiry report titled "Canada's Promises to Keep: the Charter and Violence Against Women" written by Lee in 2003. The CASAC website states the inquiry focused on the justice system, low conviction rates of violence against women and its impacts on women's inequality. The inquiry gathers one hundred criminally assaulted women stories of their experience with the Justice system in Canada, emergency response, police investigation, crown attorney decisions, court proceedings, and sentencing.
