The collection consists of a collection of memoirs presented to the Royal Commission on the Status of Women in Canada.

This fonds consists of documents created and collected by Lynda Yanz as a feminist and activist for the working class. Documents are related to her activities within the Women's Research Centre in Vancouver, the International Women's Day Committee in Vancouver, The International Women's Day Committee in Toronto and the In Struggle Group and periodical. It contains minutes of meetings, articles, reports, copies of the In Struggle! publication, and information about the relationship between socialism, communism, and feminism. This fonds also contains material related to labour union strikes by women workers, including hospital workers, factory workers, and postal workers.

This fonds documents Barbara Roberts’ work in helping organize the Peace Tent at the United Nations’ Third World Conference on the status of women in Kenya, Nairobi. The fonds contains research material accrued by Barbara Roberts, including audio recordings of the Peace Tent sessions and session transcripts as well as a limited amount of correspondence and notes created in the preparation of a prospective book on the Peace Tent. The fonds includes buttons, many of which were worn at the Peace Tent.

This fonds contains textual records related to FAFIA's lobbying and knowledge-sharing efforts during the first five years of their existence. During this time, FAFIA sought to ensure the federal government's implementation of international agreements made at United Nations conferences, including the Third UN World Conference on Women in Nairobi, Kenya, the Fourth UN World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, and related preparatory and follow-up conferences. FAFIA was primarily involved in the Beijing +5 follow-up conference held in New York City in the year 2000, which assessed international implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action. In this fonds, researchers will find a wealth of information related to these world conferences, including proceedings reports, critiques, and participant evaluations, as well as FAFIA publications which detail Canada's failure to act in accordance with UN documents such as "The Nairobi Forward-looking Strategies for the Advancement of Women," "The Beijing Platform for Action," and the "Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women." Researchers will also find documents detailing other countries' adherence to these agreements.

It includes the essay she co-wrote "Sisters, Brothers, Lovers... listen" for the final conference of SUPA (Student Union for Peace Action) in 1967. It also contains the essay "Bread and Roses" written with Kathy McAfee calling for a movement to organize working-class women. The Women's International League for Peace and Freedom: Ontario Branches fonds contains the records of the organization’s Ottawa and Toronto branches, dating predominantly from the late 1970s-early 2000s. The fonds contains administrative and project records and includes branch governance records, reflective of efforts to establish an official WILPF Canada Section. The fonds especially documents the branches’ coordinated actions at local and international levels to further the 1980s’ disarmament movement, including its involvement in the STAR (Stop the Arms Race) Campaign and campaigns to cease NATO flight testing over Innu territory, as well as other coordinated marches and rallies. The fonds’ administrative series reflects WILPF’s reporting relationships to international headquarters as well as its affiliation with local peace organizations. The fonds includes records from International Congresses and correspondence with other WILPF sections and branches.
