Series S4 - CARAL

This series contains records related to Piercy's work as a board members and chapter representative for CARAL. Primarily, these records are related to CARAL National and CARAL Ottawa, though other chapters are included as well. Documents include meeting minutes and notes, AGM records, efforts to lobby MPs, presentation material, petitions, internal organizing such as finances and memberships, correspondence, event promotions, pamphlets, media releases, newspaper clippings, articles, legal documents, research material, and many of Piercy’s notes. Of particular interest are statements and correspondence by Dr. Henry Morgentaler and the women who sought to defend him; photographs of CARAL actions; and CARAL's photographic slide presentations.

Please be advised that some of this material is incredibly graphic, featuring photographs of women who died from illegal abortion, and anti-choice images of aborted fetuses.
