Orientation to Trades and Technology

This file contains a 351 page publication prepared for the Open Learning Agency of the Province of British Columbia. It consists of the revised version of 1986. The publication has been revised to meet the National Standards for Exploratory Course in Trades and Technology for Women developed by WITT National Network. The revisions also reflect changes in technology, and the use of instructional technology by learners and instructors in the delivery of the program.

Exploring Opportunities for Women in Trades and Technology

This file contains a draft program proposal submitted by Shirley Fredrickson, carpentry instructor at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George Campus. The proposed program was designed for women wanting to go into a non-traditional trade, technology training or blue collar worker, but who need more preparatory training to get to the point of entering a skilled trade apprenticeship or training program.

Surviving and Thriving: Women in Trades & Technology and Employment Equity

This file contains a publication, proceedings of a conference held in October 1 to 4, 1988 at Naramata, British Columbia. The book is the reflection of the knowledge and experience gained by Canadian Women as they struggle to gain access to the world of trades and technical work. It gathers the efforts, initiatives and programs of that time, which have been developed to assist in that process. It was the first Canadian volume to address these issues in depth.
