        History

        The University Women's Club of Ottawa was formed on 15 April, 1910. The purpose of the Club was to advance the interests of women and to serve the community in social, educational and cultural areas. The club awarded scholarships to secondary school and university students. It participated in the establishment of the Ottawa Little Theater, The Elizabeth Frye Society of Ottawa and the National School Volunteer Association. The Club presents the view of women on contemporary economic, social and cultural problems. It is affiliated with the Canadian Federation of University Women.

        Le University Women's Club d'Ottawa a été créé le 15 avril 1910. L'objectif du club est de promouvoir les intérêts des femmes et de servir la communauté dans les domaines social, éducatif et culturel. Le club attribue des bourses d'études à des élèves du secondaire et à des étudiants de l'université. Il participe à la création du Ottawa Little Theater, de la Société Elizabeth Frye d'Ottawa et de l'Association nationale des bénévoles des écoles. Le Club présente le point de vue des femmes sur les problèmes économiques, sociaux et culturels contemporains. Il est affilié à la Fédération canadienne des femmes diplômées des universités.
