Scope and content

This is an interview with Dr. Tyseer Aboulnasr, an Egyptian electrical engineer who became the second-ever female Dean of Engineering in Canada, and the first-ever female Dean of Engineering at the University of Ottawa when she was appointed in 1998. She also served as the Dean of Applied Sciences at the University of British Columbia from 2008 to 2011. Dr. Aboulnasr was named a recipient of the Order of Ontario in 2004, and in 2012, she received the Queen’s diamond Jubilee Award. Throughout the interview, Dr. Aboulnasr provides important insight about her experience as a woman engineer in Egypt compare to her experience in Canada. The interviewer is Meghan Tibbits-Lamirande.

Il s'agit d'un entretien avec Tyseer Aboulnasr, ingénieure électrique égyptienne, qui est devenue la deuxième femme doyenne de la faculté d'ingénierie au Canada et la première femme doyenne de la faculté d'ingénierie à l'Université d'Ottawa, lors de sa nomination en 1998. Elle a également été doyenne de la faculté des sciences appliquées de l'université de Colombie-Britannique de 2008 à 2011. Mme Aboulnasr a été nommée membre de l'Ordre de l'Ontario en 2004 et, en 2012, elle a reçu le prix du jubilé de diamant de la Reine. Tout au long de l'entretien, Mme Aboulnasr donne des informations importantes sur son expérience en tant que femme ingénieur en Égypte par rapport à son expérience au Canada.
