Scope and content

This first of two files containing records relating to the writing and publication of "The Neglected Majority," edited by Susan Mann with Alison Prentice. A note to file dated 6 November 2016 states: "Alison Prentice + I met in a bar at the "Berks" (Berkshire Conference on the History of Women) in the late spring of 1976. We discovered that we were both historians, both exploring the new field of women's history, both married to physicists & both laughing over the same things. On the plane returning to Canada, we dreamt up the idea and mapped out the concents of what would be, within a few months, The Neglected Majority. As I recall, Alison wrote the introduction + I edited it, I put the bibliography together + she edited it and we each edited à tour de rôle, the selected articles for inclusion. We survived as friends then and now..."
