The series consists of material starting from the early days of NAWL and its beginnings after the 1974 Windsor conference on Women and the Law and the Interim Organizing Committee based out of the University of Ottawa Law School. The National Steering Committee was established in 1975 and acts as the Board of Directors. The series is broken down into sub-series and records include by-laws and constitutions, manuals, resolutions, meeting minutes and reports, financial documents, as well as correspondence. It also includes records related to fundraising, grant applications and external funding requests as well as membership.
