This was WITT NN’s final conference and the writing was clearly on the wall at the accompanying AGM. The conference had lofty objectives and was very well attended by both TTO women and stakeholders. It was fantastic, but a last gasp for the organization. At this point, WITT NN was losing traction as a Sector Council and members were split on the value of influencing social change vs. supporting WITT women. As one of the most stable provincial organizations, SaskWITT distanced itself in the final months by denouncing membership yet providing input and direction at the Board table. They were watching money being poured down a drain with few checks and balances in place, and were not willing to be liable for poor decisions. The conference actually was the nail in the coffin, financially.
NB. Upon dissolution, SaskWITT was selected as steward for all WITT NN products and services.
