Woman's Common of Metropolitan Toronto

This series consists of records related to Woman's Common organization. The Woman's Common began with a small group of woman in 1985. The group was incorporated in 1986 and developed an important fundraising campaign. They raised enough money to buy a building in down-town Toronto. They opened a club owned by women for women in fall 1987 at 580 Parliament Street. The club has also a bar and a restaurant proposing various activities for women: concert, dance, workshops, etc. It closed its doors in 1994.
