This is a sound recording of the program, 'From a Different Perspective', a radio programme about the third world by Development Education Centre, Toronto; it was hosted by Peter Davies. Frances Gregory speaks about her work with INTERCEDE, the International Coalition to End Domestic Exploitation [01:17-10:32; 15:35-16:00]. Topics discussed include the lack of rights afforded to domestic workers in Canada ; INTERCEDE's victories in Ontario ; specific working conditions for domestic workers ; and their interactions with Canadian Immigration Services. Gregory's interview is followed by another interview with Joyce Fraser, author of Cry of the Illegal Immigrant [10:47-15:35]. Fraser explains the situation for domestic workers living in Canada illegally, and advises against becoming a domestic in order to immigrate to Canada.
