From April 29 to May 3, 2002, Valerie Overend travelled with a video crew through parts of Malawi in her role as interviewer for a production “A World of Choices”. The video was part of a larger project funded by CIDA and ACCC with a goal of encouraging broader participation of girls/young women to enter occupations in trades and technology. Back in Canada, she assisted with post production through scripting and selection of appropriate footage and she produced a Teacher’s guide for use with the video once it was complete. The video was the first produced in Malawi and played on National television for several years, as many as 10 times per day in the first year.
