General note
Many women in Hamilton supported this effort and later formed the Hamilton Working Women's Group. The group's emphasis was affirmative action, equal pay and day care. Over the years, the same women have created an Interval House for battered wives and children, fought for justice for women in the courts, and supported many struggles for women in unions. (Information provided by Myrna Wood, 1994).
