Scope and content
Elizabeth Shepherd was involved in METRAC, a Metro Toronto based organisation. It works on advocacy, law reform, lobbying and public education on issues of violence against women and children. The Feminist Working Group on the Criminal [In]justice System was coordinated by METRAC. The group formed a community based network of 70 organisations, coalitions and individuals concerned about justice and violence against women. The series consists of information related to METRAC's mission and action. It contains contacts list and METRAC's resources for actions. Records are also related to METRAC's legal collaborations, to discussions developed with the NDP Attorney General Marion Boyd, and to the whole nature of the Provocation Defense. The series includes correspondence with Federal AG Attorney General Anne McClellan.
