Accompanied by card (5 x 7 in.): Sowing the Seed. This photograph is presented as a souvenir of the Second Annual International Convention of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gay Me, 1983, New York City. It depicts Jeanne Manford in the Gay Pride March of June 1972. She was the first parent to “come out” openly in support of her gay son. Jeanne’s appeal drew cheers that will echo down the corridors of time. It sowed the seed that led to the founding of Parents of Gays, now nationwide and worldwide. Jeanne Manford will always be honored for her courage, her noble ideals and unselfish devotion and work for the parents of gays and lesbians everywhere. She enriches all our lives’. Co founders of Parents of Gays: Dr. Jules Manford, Morty Manford, Reverend Ed Egan and Barbara Love. Photo with kind permission of Lee Carr. Production costs are a gift of Boris Maysel and Ermanno J.
