Jeanne Lapointe was an academic, the first woman professor in 1940 in the Faculty of Arts at the Université de Laval and a commissioner on the Royal Commission on Education in Québec.

Lola Lange was a feminist from Alberta involved in organizations like the Alberta Farm Wives' Union and 4-H. In 1967 Lola was awarded a grant by the Bank of Montreal to study the effects of continuing education in rural and farming communities. Lange's role on the commission was to represent the voices of women living in rural farming communities.
