This series contains recordings of Matrix women's radio program (later "Matrix - By, for and about women" and "Our Sister's Place"), produced by Matrix Collective, broadcast on CINQ-FM 102.3 FM, a multilingual Canadian radio station located in Montreal, Quebec, 1981 to c.2004. The program aired on Saturdays; the first episode aired in October 1981. Hosts included Laura Yaros, Beth Blackmore, Jan Richman, and more. Each episode covered a specific topic relating to women or feminism, and many featured interviews. Music played in the episodes most often featured women artists.
This series contains miscellaneous records that are not directly related to violence against women, but which are relevant to other local women's organizations and more generally to the struggle for women's liberation from the late twentieth century to the present.
Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women (OCTEVAW)
This series contains records related to the Round Table Against Violence Against Women. The Round Table brought advocates, caseworkers, law enforcement, and members of the judicial system together to discuss how to better deal with and respond to the problem of domestic abuse and violence against women in Ottawa-Carleton.
Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women (OCTEVAW)
This series contains miscellaneous reports and research material related to the problem of violence against women, including studies of intimate femicide, police response to domestic violence calls, and assisting victims of sexual abuse. This series is made up of material that had not been obviously collected or created by a particular subcommittee; instead, these records were produced by other organizations and individuals, and pertain to the RCCEVAW's overall work.
This series contains the RCCEVAW's incoming and outgoing correspondence, as well as files in which the group collected correspondence on particular projects or issues.
This series contains pamphlets, brochures, and other records related to the RCCEVAW's public education efforts. THis series also contains flyers and training documents for their workshops and public events.
This series contains newspaper clippings collected by the RCCEVAW in the course of their work. Clippings are primarily related to women killed by their male partners, domestic violence in Canadian courts, custody and access, and the father's rights movement; the RCCEVAW collected clippings that supported their position, as well as those which advocated against their proposed reforms.
This series contains minutes, research material, and other records related to a number of RCCEVAW Subcommittees and Task Forces, including the Lesbian Issues Subcommittee, the Community Framework Subcommittee, the Court Support Subcommittee, the Subcommittee on programs for Children who have Witnessed Domestic Violence, the ID Task Force, and the Recovered Memory Task Group. This series also contains records related to organizations which grew out of the RCCEVAW, such as the Sexual Assault Network and Immigrant and Visible Minority Women Against Abuse.
