The publication is not noted but it was likely National Action Committee on the Status of Women publications "Feminist Action" and "NAC Status of Women News. "The main subjects are young girls and children, working women, women and unions, a health care.

The collection consists of documents collected by Kathleen Moore Pageot related to Seymour Mayne and dating from 1969 to 1983 related to Canadian poetry, literature and publishing in Montreal and Canada in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It contains correspondence, poems and the manuscript of a poetry collection, pamphlets, invitations and a short story written by and/or pertaining to both Kathleen Moore (Pageot) and Seymour Mayne.

Women in STEM Oral History Project Collection / Collection d'histoires orales sur le pacours de femmes en STIM

This project contains oral history interviews with women in Canada who have had a significant impact in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In the interviews, these experts not only provided divergent perspectives on the field, but also on feminism, racial justice and the role of STEM in achieving and/or preventing social equity. Taken together, these interviews have considerable historical value as an archive of women's experience in STEM from the last decades of the 20th century to the present day, and they help us understand what it was like to learn and work in male-dominated environments that were potentially encouraging, or potentially hostile, to women.

Phase one was carried out in 2023 completed in early 2024. It includes 10 interviews.

Ce collection contient des entretiens d'histoire orale avec des femmes au Canada qui ont eu un impact significatif dans les domaines des sciences, de la technologie, de l'ingénierie et des mathématiques. Dans les entretiens, ces experts ont non seulement fourni des perspectives divergentes sur le domaine, mais aussi sur le féminisme, la justice raciale et le rôle des STIM dans la réalisation et/ou la prévention de l'équité sociale. Pris dans leur ensemble, ces entretiens ont une valeur historique considérable en tant qu'archives de l'expérience des femmes dans les STIM, depuis les dernières décennies du 20e siècle jusqu'à aujourd'hui, et ils nous aident à comprendre ce que c'était que d'apprendre et de travailler dans des environnements dominés par les hommes qui étaient potentiellement encourageants, ou potentiellement hostiles, pour les femmes.

La première phase s'est déroulée en 2023 et s'est achevée début 2024. Elle comprend 10 entretiens.

La deuxième phase a été réalisée en 2025 (à venir).

This corpus contains copies of digital records relating to the International Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists (ICWES). It includes proceedings for ICWES-I to ICWES-XII, as well as digitized records of conferences I through XVII, such as lists of participants, reports, testimonials, correspondence, and photographs. ICWES VIII also includes recorded tapes and their (partial) transcriptions.This corpus also includes the gathered quantitative data created in analyzing conference records and testimonies gathered in preparation for the publication, "Women’s Contribution to Science and Technology through ICWES Conferences" by Monique Frize, Claire Deschênes and Ruby Heap (Springer: December 2023).

Silent Film Music Collection

The bulk of the collection is comprised of sheet music for mostly piano or orchestra, published between 1883 and 1946 (approximately a third of which was published in the 1920s) for the purposes of performance during the screening of silent films. Handwritten notes and cues, as well as stamps are found on many sheets, which have been identified. Some of the items are of collections of music specifically written and published for the purpose of motion pictures. Also included are cue sheets and instruction manuals, folders with advertisements, letters from editors, as well as a program for the 2014 screening of “The Cat and the Canary” with small orchestra at the University of Ottawa School of Music, sums up the Silent Film Music collection.

Nikki Colodny collection

The two sound files in this collection were recorded when Dr. Colodny visited Ottawa to take part in the Women in STEM Oral History project (linked below). The two recordings in this collection consist of a presentation that Dr. Colodny gave to Meghan Tibbits-Lamirande's Cultural Studies class (ENGL3911) at Carleton University on November 20th, 2023, and a supplementary interview which took place shortly afterwards, at the University of Ottawa’s Archives and Special Collections.

Ces fichiers ont été enregistrés lors de la visite du Dr Colodny à Ottawa pour participer au projet d'histoire orale des femmes dans les STIM (voir ci-dessous). Les enregistrements de cette collection consistent en une présentation que le Dr Colodny a donnée au cours d'études culturelles (ENGL3911) de Meghan Tibbits-Lamirande à l'Université Carleton le 20 novembre 2023, et en une entrevue supplémentaire qui a eu lieu peu après, aux Archives et collections spéciales de l'Université d'Ottawa.
