Ecofeminist and development groups

The series consists of records relating to women’s status in rural settings and to ecofeminism. The series contains newsletters and correspondence from groups lobbying to raise the social economic status of farm women as well as related conference and workshop records. The series includes news clippings and articles on the status of rural women in developing countries and is also strong in ecofeminist workshop and conference records.

Women’s shelters and programs

The series contains records related to groups and programs for women who have experienced violence and includes records from women’s shelters and programs as well as pamphlets and publications for support groups and services. The series also contains workshop and other records from a women’s program in Guatemala. The file includes news clippings and copies of articles as accumulated by Helen Forsey in her research.

The fonds depicts Helen Forsey's involvement in women's groups and events such as the Ottawa Women’s Lobby, Upstream, and the International Women's Year Arnprior Conference of Women.

The fonds includes records documenting Helen Forsey’s research into feminist causes with news clippings and articles tracking social issues such as domestic violence, militarism, pornography, homophobia, and sexism in the media.
Each series contains samples of Helen Forsey's writings and related correspondence, illustrating her writing process and response to contemporary issues impacting the status of women.

This series consists mostly of newspapers, journals and magazines published by women’s groups and collectives such as “Windsor Woman,” “Montreal Health Press,” “New England Free Press” and “Vancouver Women's Caucus.” The publications include “Pedestal,” “The Other Woman,” and “The New Feminist.” The series is focussed on 1960-1973.

Academic honours and speaking engagements

This series consists of congratulatory letters, photographs and ephemera, such as invitations, tickets and programs. The series documents Claudette MacKay-Lassonde's honourary degrees, engineering awards and participation at related special events, such as banquets and award dinners.

Publications related to women in engineering careers

This series contains professional engineering journals and magazines, as well as copies of articles pertaining to women’s achievements in engineering, focussed within the 1980s and early- to mid-1990s. The series also contains Claudette MacKay-Lassonde's chairperson messages within the Indicator Journal and articles documenting Claudette MacKay-Lassonde’s awards and accomplishments.
