This fonds documents the work of feminist writer and activist Helen Forsey since the 1960s and her involvement in second and third wave feminism, particularly on issues such as domestic violence, eco-feminism, pornography, and sexism in the media as well as her work with various women's groups. It also documents her work with causes including international co-operation, pacifism and disarmament, environmental "sanity", social justice, Indigenous rights and reconciliation, rural issues, co-operative community, and Canadian constitutional democracy.

The fonds documents her development as a writer. Each series contains samples of Helen Forsey's writings and related correspondence, illustrating her writing process and response to contemporary issues impacting the status of women.

The series consists mostly of records from women's groups and related events such as the International Women's Year Arnprior Conference of Women.

The series also contains examples of Helen Forsey's draft writings and records documenting her anti-homophobia advocacy.

The file contains minutes of meetings from the Ottawa Women's Lobby group (OWL) as well as a notice relating to workshops offered by OWL.
