Series consists of material related to Wilbert B. Smith's life and research. The series is divided into four sub series, which pertain to Mr. Smith's involvement with Project Magnet and Project Second Story, as well as biographical information on Mr. Smith, his research and writings, and his correspondence. Wilbert B. Smith (1910-1962) was a Canadian radio engineer who developed an interest in the studying of UFOs. These records were acquired by Arthur Bray from Mr. Smith's wife and son and forms part of Mr. Bray's papers. Project Magnet

Sub series primarily consists of Wilbert Smith's correspondence with various individuals pertaining to—but not limited to—Project Magnet, a program established by Transport Canada to study the phenomena of unidentified flying objects. The program was under the direction of Wilbert Smith through its entirety, from 1950 to 1954. The vast majority of the correspondence are only photocopies.
