This fonds consists of records related to Dawna Gallagher's cartoons presented in exhibitions, or published on postcards, in books, booklets, and periodicals in the 80s. This fonds provides a picture of a period of Dawna Gallagher's career as cartoonist. A lot of cartoons are related to the women's issues, illustrating women's movement positions in the 80s, mostly in Halifax and Toronto.

It includes correspondence with Gail Gettner, feminist illustrator in Toronto, Avis Lang, Joe Mandelson, Lulu Keating, Mike Constable, illustrator in Winnipeg, and with David Rosen about the Megatoons publication. The correspondence is mostly related to the publication of cartoons and the requests of permission to publish.
