REAL Women/Regina Status of Women

Sub series consists of press clippings, correspondence, briefs, publications, applications for grants, and other material pertaining to the group known as the R.E.A.L. (Realistic, Equal, Active, for Life) Women of Canada. The R.E.A.L. Women was often critical of NAC as well the Women's Program, which was funded by the Secretary of State to support women's groups under specific criteria.

Press Clippings: General

Sub series consists of press clippings (mostly newspaper clippings) pertaining to various feminist-related subjects including reproductive rights, native women's issues, violence against women, and social program. The sub series also includes two files with clippings concerning NAC itself.

Media/Media Watch

Sub series consists of records pertaining to various examples of women's representation in the media, particularly sexist representation, as well as court decision and agreements between the C.R.T.C. and CTV.
MediaWatch was a non-profit organization that lobbied against sex-role stereotyping in media.

Employment and Human Rights

Sub series consists of records related to issues concerning women in employment such as unemployment insurance, women on boards, maternity leave, labour disputes, etc. Sub series also contains records pertaining to human rights as it relates to employment, as well as gay rights and immigration rights.
