Scope and content
This sound recording is of a poetry reading titled "Flesh and Paper," a sequence of poems written and read by Suniti Namjoshi and Gillian Hanscombe with accompaniment by Dian Booth (violin) and Stiv (tabla). "The poems in "Flesh and Paper" are a dialogue between two women who write to, for and with each other, as friends, poets, lesbians and lovers. The two voices shape a universe in which the lesbian consciousness is central and the text invites its audience to join in telling the tale of our tribe." [from tape jacket]
