In 1983, Clement began her career at Toronto Public Health (TPH), as a Family Planning Community Worker. At Health Nexus, Clement worked on consultation, policy development, health equity, and early child development.
In 2009, Connie Clement became Executive Director of Social Venture Partners Toronto, before moving on to become Scientific Director of the National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health (NCCDH)—an organization that identifies social determinants of health and facilitates health equity.
